I don't usually write reviews because I'm a bit skeptical. However, I had to share this personal experience. I know people say Bikram yoga is good for you like muscle building, detoxing, endurance, and etc., but how do you know if the benefits are for real? Has this been scientifically proven? (Evidence please. Remember I said I'm skeptical!)
I have genetically high cholesterol but I couldn't take any meds any more due to side effects. I was on Lipitor and tried similar meds. My doctor suggested it's time to try natural remedies. So I tried 28-day liver detox program from Dubally (Dr. Lee) in Beverly Hills. She has a state-of-art machine that actually measures the body composition. I was losing weight, eating much healthier and Dr. Lee recommended regular workout. That said, I put myself on regular schedule including Bikram yoga as a part of workout routine. After attending a Bikram yoga class (the night before measurement), we've noticed a huge jump in my muscle mass in my body composition. After 28-day liver detox ended, I went to my doctor for follow up tests to check on liver, blood work and more. To our surprise, my cholesterol went down by 80 without any medicine, reduced body fat and increased in muscle tissues.
This is truly amazing! Most importantly I can tell that I feel great - more energy and stronger mind and body.

I began attending Bikram Yoga Westlake Village in an attempt to alleviate extraordinary high stress that was not only persistent but well beyond anything I had ever experienced in my life, including combat. In the beginning I was hopeful yet very skeptical that this yoga could actually make me feel better about the serious problems I was facing. To my surprise, after a few weeks of attending regularly, my stress level dropped to the point where it became completely manageable and I could function well, despite the problems that remained. The additional physical benefits I experienced were a bonus and they included weight loss, improved flexibility and most importantly less pain in my knees, hands and feet from bursitis and arthritis. Thanks to the teachers at Bikram Yoga Westlake Village and to Mahnaz for their focus on helping each individual, wherever they are at in their lives. Thank You All.
When I began practicing two years ago, I never knew Bikram yoga would be this enjoyable, particularly since it's indoors, hot and sweaty. I love it and always look forward to the classes. Also, I doubt I'm neither the first person nor the last person to compliment you on your studio, the terrific teachers and their energy and enthusiasm for the classes, and the caliber and integrity of the students that practice at Bikram Westlake Village. It is a privilege being a practitioner at Bikram Yoga Westlake Village. Having had the opportunity to participate in the 60 Day Challenge was a positive experience that helped me develop clearer focus and more consistent discipline. I not only benefited mentally and emotionally, but also physically. My chronic pain has diminished. I have continued to gradually lose unwanted pounds, and have improved my posture as well. I am making better dietary choices as I become healthier, too. I also enjoyed the camaraderie of the Challenge. It was great to be participating with others.
I am fortunate to be at Bikram Yoga Westlake Village under the guidance of Mahnaz and her dedicated instructors. All of them foster a supportive environment in which one can continue to make positive changes. I appreciate all of their ongoing efforts.
I started doing Bikram Yoga and about two months into it I heard about the 60 day challenge. I’ve never done yoga before and after two months I could already tell this was a life altering experience because it clearly benefits you physically and emotionally. I was hesitant but I signed up for the challenge and I absolutely loved it. Every day I felt myself getting stronger and stronger and I lost about 25 pounds during this challenge. Getting to class was never a chore and I looked forward to every day. Mahnaz simply put it as it’s just like showering and brushing your teeth everyday, you just do it. It really was that simple and now that the challenge is over I plan on getting in at least 5 to 6 classes a week. The more I go the stronger I get physically along with the benefits of having a calm mind and better practice. The benefits you get from this class follow you into your home and work life impacting you and others in a positive way. Mahnaz and her staff are great and I will be a life long member!
My daughter started me in the practice of Bikram Yoga in April, knowing that this practice would change my life. It sounds all very dramatic but it is dramatic. Having sustained lots of injuries through my life, at forty-seven, I found I was losing my life force due to chronic, debilitating pain. I promptly did the 60 day challenge this summer as recommended by Mahnaz for new students. Boy was this amazing and a transformative experience. My neuropathy in my arm, shoulder and neck has disappeared, and my body and mind are going through systematic recovery every day.
Westlake Bikram under Mahnaz' direction is the best studio. Because all of the teachers take a personal interest in our progress, we are all well cared for and directed.I am so grateful to have found a group of teachers and a community of people so passionate about this practice. We are so beautifully trained in this practice where accuracy is critical.

I want to thank you for all that you do to contribute to the health and well being of those brave enough to endeavor into Bikram. It has made a world of difference getting back into my practice. My health has improved tremendously and my energy while in grad school/doing the balancing act of life has increased. Your studio is the by far the best studio I have seen and the sincere support you and your instructors provide differentiates you from all others. I am both appreciative and committed.
In my only 3 months of Bikram, I have seen many places and been with many teachers (because of my travel, I go to wherever there is a Bikram place), but I can tell you that you have the cleanest, nicest and most welcoming facility and you are just the best, most dedicated and inspiring teacher of all, hands down (and knees locked).
I have been practicing Bikram Yoga for eight years and have found the accomplishment of doing Bikram Yoga tremendously rewarding. This yoga has given me an enhanced sense of well being and harmony and has benefited me both physically and mentally. I feel relief from spine pain, have gained more flexibility in my muscles and joints, and have greatly improved physical strength and endurance. This yoga makes me feel refreshed and energetic and makes my day go better. It quiets my mind, keeps me healthy and it just plain feels good.
I'm a 43 year old mom of two young children. I couldn't keep up if it wasn't for Bikram Yoga. I have practiced now consistently for 7 years. I have more patience, energy, and of course it keeps the weight off! Give it an honest try. It will change your life.
I started Bikram Yoga classes nearly three years ago when I hurt my back. I was stiff as a board with no yoga or Bikram Yoga experience whatsoever. I am fortunate to have started yoga under Mahnaz’s guidance. For beginners and advanced students alike, Mahnaz offers an excellent blend of high quality knowledge, guidance, instruction, compassion, and passion for the art and science of Bikram Yoga. After years of hearing others talking about the wonders of yoga, I decided to try Bikram Yoga. I soon discovered that everything I’ve always heard about it was true.
